I'm pleased to be taking part in The Invisible Image: Photography and the Unseen, a conference held in collaboration with Open Eye Gallery at 19 Mann Island, Liverpool, on 18–19 June 2026. The programme features keynote lectures from Jordan Bear and Estelle Blaschke, alongside two days of panels exploring photography's relationship to the unseen, the latent, and the concealed.
I'll be presenting my paper, Invisible Botanies: Anna Atkins's Cyanotypes, Chemical Latency and Climate Change, on the afternoon of Thursday 18 June as part of Panel 3, "Latent Sensitivities."
The conference brings together a wide range of approaches to images that resist being seen — from archival absences and questions of concealment to the chemical and material conditions that make photographs possible in the first place. It's a context that connects closely to my own work, and I'm looking forward to the discussions over the two days.
Full details and registration are available on the conference website.
